Garden Aged Care Village

Community & Residents share many facilities.

Ehdo collaborated with Melbourne-based architectural practice Bloxas & Urban Ecologist Daniel Jan Martin who brought health, neurological & environmental design, and critical thinking to the project through their PhD studies.

The gardens are expansive and visible within all areas of the building.

Based around four key themes of Care; Community; Gardens and Sustainability, our scheme is primarily focussed on the therapeutic benefits of enriched social interactions and the joy derived from meaningful connection to nature.

Residential rooms are simple for personal adaption with direct garden access.

It was critical that the landscape reflected the climate, local environment, and enriched culture for residents. So, several gardens based on different seasons and rituals of time, connect the building and people to the delight of gardens, birds, and the cycles of nature of the area.
